If you link your PS4 to your phone, life is that much easier. Because, when you link your PS4 to your phone, you can download games to your PS4 remotely.

With how large game files are now, this is incredibly convenient. If you’re away during the day, or on holiday, and want to have a game or two ready and downloaded to play when you’re back, you can just access said game on your phone and download it straight to your console.

With that in mind, let’s now take a look at how you can link your PS4 to your phone.

It’s quick and easy to link your PS4 to your phone. Just follow these three simple steps.

Step 1: Download and Sign In to the PS App

First, you need to download the PlayStation app to your phone and sign in with your PSN account.

The PS app is a useful piece of software; you can browse the PS Store and buy games on it, view your games library, edit parts of your PSN profile, such as changing your PS4 profile avatar, and make use of the PlayStation Messaging feature.

Step 2: Set Your PS4 As Your Primary PS4

The Activate as Your Primary PS4 section

Next, you need to set your PS4 as your primary PS4. Your PS4 might already be your primary console, but you can quickly check by going to Settings > Account Management > Activate as Your Primary PS4.

There’ll be text at the bottom that tells you whether your PS4 is your primary PS4. If it isn’t, select Activate.

If you have one PS4, you should make it your primary PS4, regardless. An enormous benefit of having a primary PS4 is that you can play digital PS4 games offline.

Now that you’ve logged into the PS app and have set your PS4 as the primary PS4, let’s connect the two together.

On the PS app, head to the Play section and tap the cog icon to access your settings. Then, under Console Management, select Link Console to App.

Your primary PS4 should appear here. Simply ensure that you’ve selected your PS4 console, and tap Confirm.

Deactivate as primary PS4 section

Your PS4 can only link with your phone if it’s the primary PS4. So, to unlink your PS4 from your phone, all you have to do is deactivate it as the primary PS4.

Follow the pathway in step two, select Deactivate, then select Yes.

Use the New-Found Convenience of Your Linked PS4

You’ve now linked your PS4 to your phone! This means that you can use your phone to purchase and download games straight to your PS4 remotely, wherever you have an internet connection.

Try this newly acquired feature out and enjoy the convenience it brings.
